This course is offered through the Network for Climate University. These studies are available for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree students studying in the University of Jyväskylä.
Description
Climate change as it is taking place affects us all. This course provides the basic information that every student - and each civilized person - should know about the topic: Scientific basis of climate change, mitigation of climate change, effects of climate change and adaptation.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, student can:
- look at climate change from many different perspectives and create connections between them as well as look for solutions to the climate challenge in a variety of ways
- reflect her or his own role in climate change and apply what has been learned on the course to her or his field of study -
examine different perspectives, solutions, information sources, and the current debate on climate change critically.

Study material and tuition are available both in Finnish and English.
Target group
Course is open for all students at University of Oulu, and also available as cross-institutional studies for students of the Climate University network.
