LPETAN Specialized Studies in Dance Pedagogy (25 cr)

In specialized studies in dance pedagogy, dance and physical expression are taught in a versatile manner from the perspective of holistic well-being.

Through dance, students are encouraged to explore different dimensions of physicality and body awareness and to understand movement not only in terms of physical activity but also from the perspective of experiences and observations. Depending on the course, dance is approached as part of physical education, art education, community education, cultural education, and functional therapies with different emphases. The studies strengthen students' interaction skills through, among other things, physical presence, physical reflection, and expression exercises. In addition, the studies develop the versatile teaching and application of dance in different areas of education.

Dance pedagogy studies are open to degree students and exchange students of the Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences. Dance pedagogy studies are not open to students from other faculties, and it is not possible to apply for the right to study these courses.
