Description
Food as part of culture. Perceptions, beliefs and norms related to food. Sociocultural factors (eg. age, sex, religion, food accessibility, income, regional differences, urban vs. rural, culture, global effects) that affect eating. Vegetarian, planetary, and sustainable diets as examples of sociocultural effects. Food and identity.
Learning outcomes

The student can explain how food and eating reflect social interaction, society and culture. The student can explain how food is part of identity. Student learns critical thinking.

Offering data: This course is part basic studies in nutrition and minor subjects studies in nutrition. The course is compulsory for students of the 2nd study year in Nutrition.
