Content
Professional training is completed by working (TIES5991: abroad) in IT related tasks and then writing a report. During the training, the student applies the knowledge and skills acquired during the studies and becomes familiar with the organisation’s operations and culture, the division of work, and social relationships in the workplace.


The internship must always be agreed in advance with the teacher responsible for the course, and a contract is made through the univer-sity’s Into internship service.


The course is intended only for students in Master's Degree Pro-gramme in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, HPC (Speciali-sation in Computer Science), Technology Management and Infor-mation and Software Engineering. A maximum of 12 ECTS credits can be included in the Master’s degree from the courses TIES599, TIES5991 and TIES5950.

Training and its reporting.

Assesment criteria

Training report. The report should describe the tasks performed, as-sessment on the compatibility of studies and training, the learning that took place during the training and include an evaluation of skills acquired in working life in relation to the studies, as well as identify-ing the student’s own development needs. The number of credits is determined by the duration of work experience.

Learning outcomes

The student is capable of working independently in IT expert roles and has a general understanding of the field in which they will work after completing the degree.
