Completion methods and assessment criteria

Credits (3 ECTS) are earned by actively participating in at least two scientific conferences, either national or international. Participation means presenting your doctoral dissertation orally or as a poster presentation. It is recommended that at least one of the presentations be held at an international conference – an international conference organised in Finland also meets this recommendation. 

A doctoral student

• will have experience in preparing, giving a talk or poster presentation on their research, and interacting with the international audience.
• by attending other presentations, a student will hear about the latest cutting-edge research and get a good sense of what the current state of research is.
• conferences give a student the opportunity to build a professional, international network with both peer doctoral students and more advanced researchers in their field
