Description

Interactive practical applications course in sport and health sciences. Invited international experts in Sport and Health Sciences will provide workshop teaching session in their respective area of expertise. 

Content is dependent upon the area of expertise of visiting instructors. Possible topics in Science of Sport Coaching may include, but is not limited to:

- Strength Training

- Athlete Development and Coaching

- Training and Nutrition

- Injury Prevention

Learning outcomes

Apply newly applied knowledge in the field, learn and experience sport sciences from international experts, social networking, and collaboration opportunities. The experiential learning environment will provide students insight on current research and teaching strategies from other institutions, that they are able to translate and incorporate in their studies in their home country.

Additional information

5 workshop / symposium days on site (Jyväskylä), 1 virtual teaching day (home country). Students participate in various workshop, demo and symposium sessions during their 5 day stay in Jyväskylä. Assignments based on case studies of collected data will be completed with supporting literature done in groups (international networking) and will be presented during the virtual session. ERASMUS visiting students will receive 3 ECTS. The course is Pass/Fail.
