Description
The module on Special Education focuses on special education and inclusive education. It offers perspectives on disability studies and evidence-based practices in the context of special and inclusive education. The contents include also outlook on pedagogical environments, various pedagogical approaches and diversities in education.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the specialisation module in Special Education the student will
- recognise the main evidence-based practices for supporting learners with special needs and analyze them in light of theoretical and empirical knowledge.
- have the tools to theoretically analyse diversities and to apply the theories to education and pedagogy.
- recognise and analyse the theoretical underpinnings and practical implementation of various pedagogical approaches for supporting learning.
- understand and apply the theoretical premises of Disability Studies in developing pedagogical practices.
- have an understanding of how different educational institutions function as a learning environment.
