Course description
Within this course the students get acquainted with the phenomena of negotiations, debating, and argumentation as central elements of academic expertise within multilingual and intercultural contexts and situations.
Main contents:
- argumentation and critical thinking as phenomena within multilingual and intercultural contexts
- multilingual and intercultural communication skills needed in diverse settings and contexts
- ethics of multilingual and intercultural negotiations and argumentation
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, student is expected to:
- have improved their reasoning skills and argumentation in multilingual and intercultural contexts
- understand the ethical aspects of debating and negotiating
- be able to observe critically the arguments of self and others
- be able to appropriate their multilingual and linguistic resources to the context and situation of the argumentation
