Course description

In this course the students will be working in small groups learning about different approaches to multilingual and intercultural communication. The course consists of independent and group work.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student is expected to

  • understand the meanings and functions of languages and cultures in interaction.
  • be familiar with and critically evaluate traditional and contemporary approaches to intercultural communication.
  • have developed their language awareness in order to make use of their full language repertoire in multilingual situations.
  • have explored the concept of multilingualism and gained an understanding of how multilingual skills can be advantageous in their field of study.

Evaluation criteria:
Active participation in individual and group learning assignments to be completed according to the given instructions. Students are expected to demonstrate achievement of the set learning goals. More detailed assessment criteria will be discussed at the beginning of the course.
