Course description
The aim is to practice receptive skills, such as understanding of routine everyday written an spoken texts (shopping, reading announcements) First and foremost the attention is focused on how to use the language environment and the resources it offers both to cope in situations and to support language learning.

- doing errands on campus and in shops
- role of the environment in searching information
- compensation strategies
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to
- cope with routine everyday situations in the Finnish environment
- find information by asking and observing language environment
- recognize own multilingual resources and the affordances offered by the environment.
