Course description
This course is for students on the Integra programme who have a reasonable foundation in English which they need to further develop towards their goal of becoming effective communicators in academic and professional settings. On this course students will develop their communication skills in a range of everyday, academic and professional contexts. Typical tasks include locating reliable, field specific information and writing about, presenting and discussing relevant topics with peers from various study backgrounds.

Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to
- be able to communicate competently in a variety of everyday, academic and professional contexts

- be able to critically evaluate and use information related to one’s field of studies
- be aware of the role of English as a tool for multicultural academic communication
- have acquired independent study skills needed to develop one’s own language and study needs.

Target group: this course is for students of the Integra programme.
Language level: This course is aimed at students with a CEFR level of B1. We cannot guarantee that students will achieve this level upon completion of the course.
