Course description

This course aims to develop skills obtained in academia and transfer them to working life. Students reflect on their knowledge and skills in order to articulate what they have learned and how they can apply this beyond the university. Typical tasks include producing text relevant to working life in the student’s preferred field, and coaching peers in groups.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student is expected to

  • Reflect on, recognise and articulate their own skills and expertise in order to transition between academic and professional life.  

  • Apply their research skills to professional and multidisciplinary contexts.   

  • Further develop their teamwork and argumentation skills in order to adapt from academic to professional life.   

  • Further develop their communication skills and activate their language resources in order to network effectively in their field and in multilingual contexts.  

Additional information

The course is primarily targeted at Master’s degree students in the English-taught Master’s degree programme and advanced Bachelor level students. Compulsory for some degrees, check your degree requirements.
