Course description
The course focuses on multilingual and multidisciplinary teamwork in a project setting. Through project-working in diverse, multilingual, and interdisciplinary teams, students develop an understanding of the conventions of language and communication needed in such teams.
Key themes include:
- understanding work in terms of project stages, resources and roles
- developing as confident communicators in multilingual and multidisciplinary teams
- using their own and others’ multilingual resources
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student is expected to
- Understand the fundamental elements of project management, including resource management and self-motivation.
- Articulate their own expertise to advocate effectively for decisions
- Develop interaction skills to communicate effectively in multilingual and multidisciplinary teams
- Recognize and use the group’s multilingual resources in problem solving to achieve goals of the project work.
- Collect and use feedback to develop their decision making, problem solving and argumentation skills.
