Course description
The course is primarily targeted for Master's degree students, especially in the English-taught programmes, who wish to develop their scientific writing skills and academic conventions at the start of their studies.
Key themes include:- information search, evaluation and management of sources
- critical thinking in academic reading and writing,
- scientific writing conventions and academic integrity,
- scientific writing as a process, constructive feedback and critical reflection
Learning outcomes
On completion of this course, the student is expected to
- Recognize and produce structured texts according to field specific conventions and academic registers
- Find, evaluate and synthesise relevant primary and secondary sources throughout the writing process
- Understand the requirements and principles of academic integrity
- Use feedback to further enhance their academic writing
