Description
The impact of worldviews, cultures, and beliefs on the perception of sustainability problems and the search for solutions. The role of emotions in maintaining and changing beliefs, values, and behaviors. Values and beliefs embedded in different disciplines and major social discourses and their role in sustaining current world systems. The problem of finding sustainability solutions in a world with plural value systems.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student:
- Can recognize and analyze how ways of thinking, worldviews, values, and emotions affect human behavior and societal activities in relation to sustainability.
- Can apply knowledge about cultures and behavior in solving problems connected to sustainability transitions.
- Has gained abilities to take active role in changing unsustainable features of cultures and behavior.
