up-to-date theories of and research on play; perspectives on play in early childhood education; interconnectedness of play and learning; the importance of play in children’s culture
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to
- interpret and evaluate theories of and research on play
- understand play as children’s own activity and as the content and method of learning in early childhood education
- know how to evaluate diverse, contemporary perspectives on play
- understand different aspects of children’s play culture
