Description
Planning the thesis: developing research problems, clarifying and defining the concepts, defining the research area, finding and assembling references, and presenting a literature review and a research plan.
Learning from other students' work
Understanding characteristics of various methodological approaches
Deepen knowledge of research methods by familiarising with the research methods relevant to the thesis
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student can:
identify and narrow down a research topic relevant to your discipline
develop a scientific research plan for their thesis, with appropriate research questions and hypotheses, research design, and methods
establish a realistic timetable for the thesis
understand the theoretical concepts of the discipline and be able to apply them in the thesis
carry out a comprehensive, clear, and coherent literature review of previous scientific research on the subject of their thesis and formulate research questions and hypotheses on this basis
justify and defend their research design and literature review
take into account ethical considerations and be familiar with the research ethics approval processes associated with the thesis and follow good scientific practice at all stages of the research process
critically evaluate the use of research methods in answering research questions
provide critical and constructive feedback on the work of other students
