Description

In the seminar, students familiarize themselves with research designs and statistical methods in health sciences.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student:

  • knows the key concepts of epidemiology and understands their connection to statistics,
  • understands the implications of different research designs for statistical analysis and interpretation of results,
  • is familiar with guidelines related to research reporting,
  • can read research reports and independently seek additional information about the methods used,
  • can orally present learned information in an understandable manner,
  • can apply some statistical methods commonly used in epidemiology.

Basic studies in statistics, generalized linear models recommended

Method 1

Description:
Active participation in seminar activities, giving a seminar presentation, preparing a practice assignment, and completing practice assignments.
Evaluation criteria:
The assessment is based on the seminar presentation, active participation in the discussions during the seminar, as well as the preparation and completion of practice exercises.
