Description
The course is a continuation for the course Generalized Linear Models 1 (GLM1), and it considers the modeling of continuous or discrete responses in the framework of generalized linear models. The course introduces the theory of generalized linear models in the general exponential distribution family framework. As special cases, ordinary linear regression, general linear regression, models for dichotomous responses and count data models are considered. In the course, the practices of the course GLM1 are justified with theoretical considerations.
Learning outcomes
A student who has successfully completed the course:
- can define the models presented in the course with assumptions,
- can choose a suitable model for empirical data and justify the choice,
- can write down the likelihood function in various situations,
- can fit the models with R software,
- can make conclusions based on the statistical analysis and report the results,
- is able to find additional information on the models and their extensions from literature.
