Sustainability and responsibility in sport management
Description
The course is both theoretically and practically oriented course. The course lectures introduce the contents and critical debates of sustainable development. This is followed by a practical part in which students in teams carry out a development project for a sport organization regarding their sustainability work.
Connection of Course Contents to UN Sustainable Development Goals
This course is designed to pay attention to all 17 sustainability development goals depending on the theme of the seminar and its invited speakers.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course, student is able to:
- Identify the necessary concepts, tools and models to understand the sustainable development in local and global context
- Critically evaluate the relationship between sport and sustainability
- Through practical orientation propose directions of development for the sustainability work in a selected sport(-related) organisation based on analysis conducted in that organization
