Description

Different sport organizations and their logic and features. Management and leadership theories used in sport management. Managerial work in sport organizations. Relevance of HRM in sport organizations. Ethical issues in managing sport organizations. Doing management research in sport organizations.

Managing Sport Organizations course will discuss the following UN Sustainable Development Goals: SDG#5 (Gender equality), SDG#8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG#10 (Reduced Inequalities), SDG#16 (Peace, justice and strong institutions).

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this course, student is able to:

  • identify features and logic of various sport organizations
  • classify and understand different management and leadership theories used in sport management
  • assess and evaluate managerial work in sport organizations
  • understand ethical issues in managing sport organizations
  • detect main research traditions and analyse relevant research topics
