This course focuses on a research-based approach to language education and how teaching, learning, pedagogy and education can be conceptualised in research

Description

This course introduces different tools and approaches for conceptualizing and exploring different aspects of language education. The particular focus of this course is on what a research-based approach to language education involves and how research-based language education draws on notions of education, pedagogy, language teaching, language learning, development and study.

Learning outcomes

On completing this course students will be able to:

  • recognize different aspects of language education including formal language features and structures, individual experience and expectations, social considerations

  • aware of different tools and approaches to research language education phenomena

  • use research-based insights to develop as a language educator
