Description
The multidisciplinary theoretical background of the bachelor thesis. Students will learn under supervision how to write scientific text and give scientific talks. In the seminars students will learn to give and receive constructive critical feedback. The course will teach students the ability to work in a group.
Learning outcomes
After finishing this course the student:
- knows the central theoretical background of her/his study question and is able to place the research question within the frame of reference formed by all the natural sciences.
- is able to write scientific text and present the background, study questions and their connections to different scientific disciplines as a scientific talk.
- can develop her/his own critical thinking
- is able to give and receive critical feedback.

Evaluation criteria:
Hyväksyttyyn opintosuoritukseen vaaditaan asianmukaisesti tehty kirjallinen ja suullinen seminaari, tutkimussuunnitelma, osallistuminen toisten seminaareihin sekä yhden toisen esityksen opponointi.
