Description

The course focuses on the wellbeing potential of arts from psychological, physiological and social quality perspectives. The course includes lectures on practical applications of arts for wellbeing as well as the latest research in the field.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course a student will be able to:

  • Identify relationships between various types of engagement with the arts and health and wellbeing outcomes

  • Describe main qualitative and quantitative research methodologies used in exploring the topic of arts and wellbeing

  • Apply knowledge of arts and wellbeing research to their own personal or professional experiences through written reflection

Evaluation criteria:
The assessment is based on how the student achieves the learning objectives of the course. Learning outcomes are demonstrated by participation in lectures and group discussion (50% of final grade) and completion of learning diary assignments (50% of final grade).
