Description

This course is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to apply ethnographic design methodologies to address complex social and community issues. The course will provide a deep understanding of ethnographic research, design thinking, and social impact strategies. Students will learn how to plan ethnographic research, how to use ethnographic knowledge to develop creative and effective solutions to real-world problems, and how to do so within a time frame consistent with the concerns of the relevant stakeholders. The course will cover a wide range of topics including the history of ethnography, the principles of design thinking, research ethics, participant observation, interviews, and data analysis. Students will also learn about various social impact strategies, such as community engagement, advocacy, and policy change

Learning outcomes

80% attendance

Only Master's students who have completed a bachelor's thesis and a bachelor's degree are admitted to the course. All students at KIVI are welcome.
