Description

The course is an introduction to the mathematics of X-ray tomography. We will recall and apply many kinds of analysis: functional analysis, Fourier analysis, partial differential equations, and more.

Learning outcomes

After the course the student can formulate the inverse problem of X-ray tomography mathematically, connect it to the physical problem, and solve it. In addition the student will be acquainted with related tools in analysis.

Description of prerequisites

MATS2210 Hilbert spaces (or MATS220 Functional analysis) is a necessary prerequisite.
