Description

The course covers the following topics:

Privacy Paradox, Web Browser Privacy, Tracking and Fingerprinting, Data Breaches, Identity Theft, Privacy by Design, Data Protection Impact Assessments, Data Inventories, Research topics in behavioral privacy.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student:

  • Synthesize reasons to explain the Privacy paradox,
  • Develop explanations for the privacy attitude-behaviour dichotomy,
  • Structure and examine privacy issues in web browsers,
  • Develop recommendations for the design of privacy interfaces,
  • Design and produce a data inventory,
  • Assess privacy issues related to biometrics,
  • Communicate privacy issues effectively to non-specialists,
  • Analyze critically, evaluate, and convey information about privacy harms,
  • Structure and examine privacy issues in smartphones.
