Description

The purpose of the course is to create an understanding about the UNESCO World Heritage concept and its international goals. The students will join in the development of local UNESCO sites in multidisciplinary groups. 

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will:

  • Understand the UNESCO World Heritage concept and its international nature, its international goals and local importance

  • Have learned about the development of local UNESCO sites and its influence on local communities and stakeholders 

Additional information

The course is planned and implemented in co-operation between Jamk University of Applied Sciences, University of Jyväskylä and Humak University of Applied Sciences.

The grading scale will be numerical: 0-5. The grade will be based on the evaluation of the assignments that measure the extent to which the learning goals have been achieved. In courses organized in the form of contact teaching, completion requires 80% attendance.
