KUMA012 Applied Cultural Research (5 cr)
Description
The course deals with applied research on cultures. Students focus on how cultural research provides solutions to social problems.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will:
know the principles and purpose of cultural research
be aware of contemporary societal challenges and social, cultural and economic problems (such as inequality, poverty, environmental problems, political and religious conflicts, unemployment, human rights violations and cultural heritage issues) and
be able to apply research conducted at KUMU and their own competence to solve practical problems.

Independent work through a written assignement. Contact teaching may be organized in some years.
