The maturity test demonstrates the student’s familiarity with the topic of their thesis and academic writing style. At the same time, students who have received their school education in Finnish or Swedish demonstrate excellent skills in using the language in which they have been educated. A member of staff who teaches the subject assesses the content of the maturity test, while the languageaspect is assessed by a linguistic reviser approved by the Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication, Movi. Students writing the maturity test in a language in which they did not receive their school education or which is not their mother tongue are assessed on their knowledge of the thesis topic and academic writing style.
