The course deals with the history of ethnology, anthropology, and related disciplines, including changes in research methods and subjects.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will:

  • be familiar with the key research and theoretical traditions influencing the history and present of ethnology, anthropology and related disciplines.

  • be able to place classics and research directions in the context of the development of the discipline and

  • be able to understand the current research within the theory tradition of the discipline.

Lecture course. Independent work on written assignments is possible in special cases.

Description:
Lecture course.
Evaluation criteria:
The grading scale in all completion modes will be numerical: 0-5. The grade will be based on the evaluation of the assignments that measure the extent to which the learning goals have been achieved. In courses organized in the form of contact teaching, completion requires 80% attendance. For independent learning, completion of the unit requires that written assignments are completed and approved by the instructor in charge.
