Description
Health economics applies economic thinking to health-related issues. The lecture course examines factors influencing health over the long term, the impact of macroeconomic conditions on population health, socioeconomic factors of health, health behaviors, and key issues related to healthcare systems including efficiency. The course aids in understanding how economic decisions are made in healthcare, both in the public and private sectors. It also examines the cost-effectiveness of healthcare interventions, a vital skill in many healthcare and policy roles. The course particularly supports the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:
