In this lecture course on labor economics and economic policy, you will extensively explore the functioning of labor markets from an economics perspective.

Description

The goal is to understand the factors influencing the functioning of labor markets and their outcomes for both the individual and society. The lecture course focuses on the aspects of economic policy, emphasizing key questions in labor market research. These include the effects of minimum wages, unemployment benefits, and job protection on labor market functioning, as well as labor market polarization. The course enhances understanding of labor market dynamics, which is useful in decision-making and strategic planning. It also helps develop abilities to analyze and evaluate economic policy decisions, important in both public and private sector roles. The course particularly supports the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:
