Contents

The course gives an introduction to modeling of financial models with Excel and covers corporate finance, portfolio models, option pricing and bonds.


Course themes are related to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 4: Quality Education: Learning to apply Excel to financial models contributes to quality education by providing practical and applicable skills. Students gain proficiency in using a widely-used tool for financial analysis and decision-making.

SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth: Proficiency in financial modeling enhances employability, especially in roles that require data analysis and financial decision-making skills. This can contribute to economic growth and the creation of decent jobs.

Course is completed by self-studying the course literature and solving the required assignments.

At the end of the lecture course student is expected to be able to
- model basic financial models with Excel.
- analyze the empirical results.
- use Excel and VBA as tools to manipulate data.
