Learning outcomes

After completing the study unit, the student will
  • be able to act as an expert in one's own research field in scientific coordination, teaching and/or development tasks
  • understand the relevance of research for sustainable development in societies and be able to promote the societal impact of research
  • have acquired transversal skills relevant to their discipline and career goals (e.g., project management skills, leadership skills, pedagogical skills, entrepreneurial skills, coordination and development skills, expertise in sustainable development)

Modes of completion: The mode of completion may be (1) study modules/courses that support expertise, transversal skills, and/or skills in sustainable development, (2) research, teaching, coordination, development, or other expert tasks in departments and projects at the university related to one’s own field of research, (3) research, teaching, coordination, development, or other expert tasks outside the university related to one’s own field of research, or (4) participation in training, events, and/or lectures that support expertise and transversal skills (study credits may be agreed with the supervisor-in-charge).

Assessment criteria: Assignments are assessed on the basis of how the doctoral student masters the contents of the study unit and achieves the learning outcomes of the study unit. A pass requires that the assignments are completed successfully. If there is contact teaching included, active participation in the class and successful completion of any other assignments indicated in the teaching is also required.
