KOTEJ601 Postgraduate Seminar in Computing and Education (4 cr)
Description
The seminar will support doctoral studies in Computing and Education. The core activity will be presentations and reflection on the participants' own research topics and results. In addition, the course will include expert lectures on topics that support postgraduate studies and research. The course will also include attending and reporting on relevant and interesting doctoral defences.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to present, analyse and reflect on their own and other peer students' doctoral research. The student will know the basics of scientific research and the role of his/her own research in this field. They will understand the basics of scientific writing and communication, and the different styles and cultures of doctoral dissertations. The student will have an understanding and own experience of the structure and basic dynamics of doctoral defence.

Organized as distance education based on scheduled group meetings.
Requirements: Two presentations on your own research topic, and reflection on two other research presentations. Attending and reporting on two doctoral defences. Attendance at a minimum of ten (10) seminar sessions.
