Introduction into ICP-techniques and elemental analysis.

Description

The course focuses on elemental analyses using ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments. During the course, the student will become familiar with the special features of working in ICP-laboratories as well as planning basic ICP-analyses. Special focus will be on the selection of appropriate operating conditions as well as ensuring the reliability of the obtained results. During the course, we will also consider resource wisdom as part of the design and implementation of analyses.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student is familiar with the appropriate working habits in ICP –laboratories and understands the basics in planning elemental analyses for ICP-instruments. The student also understands how different operating conditions and possible interferences affect the reliability of the results.

Working life skills

The student knows how to plan basic elemental analyses for ICP-instruments and is capable of working in ICP-laboratories. In addition, the student can verify and report the obtained results.
