Description

The student will complete a doctoral dissertation in chemistry within a four-year timeframe. The doctoral research should demonstrate strong expertise in the chosen field of study and an in-depth understanding of the research topic. The dissertation must show the student's ability to independently and critically apply scientific research methods within the field. The dissertation is expected to be a cohesive work, constituting a publishable scientific presentation addressing a significant scientific problem within the field of chemistry, and it must be defended publicly.

The dissertation can be executed either as a monograph study or an article-based study.

Learning outcomes

After completing their doctoral dissertation, the postgraduate students are able to independently and critically apply scientific research methods, adhering to research ethics principles, and generate new scientific knowledge. They possess a profound understanding of their specific research field, enabling them to evaluate scientific research within the field and its significance. The postgraduate students are proficient in preparing scientific publications and reports, as well as presenting research findings in accordance with the practises of the scientific community.
