The course provided basic information for starting doctoral students

Description

The course consists of lectures and independent written exercises.

Target group is the new doctoral students at the Jyväskylä University School of Business and Economics (JSBE). The content includes: introduction of faculty members & staff, structure and content of the studies, collaboration, funding channels, publications, academic activities, career guidance, and strengthening of the personal study plan.


Learning outcomes

The course gives a practical introduction to doctoral studies.

The purpose is to give overview of doctoral studies at the JSBE, give practical hints for the studies and writing academic research, proposals and funding applications.

The course introduces research, faculty and staff at the JSBE.

Description of prerequisites

Master's degree, admission to the JSBE doctoral program
