Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be able to

  • plan and implement a specific teaching package in a student-oriented way
  • identify different forms of teaching and learning
  • take into account the effects of different teaching and learning environments in the planning and implementation of teaching

Teaching

Teaching must be done on a course which is of at least intermeadiate level (level A), and it must be in the field of your doctoral studies. To get your credits registered, submit a written report of your teaching to your supervisor. The report (1-2 pages) should include the following information, as confirmed by the responsible teacher or similar for the course in question:

  • Institution where the course was taught
  • Name, code and level of the course taught
  • Dates of teaching (when the course was taught)
  • Estimated number of hours spent on planning and delivering the teaching task (27 h = 1 credit)
  • What did you learn (reflect on what you learned in relation to the learning outcomes of the course ITKJ4001)

Confirmation can be provided by a signed certificate or an e-mail from the responsible teacher of the course in question, or from a superior if you have been the responsible teacher. The website of the course may also serve as confirmation, provided that all the relevant information is available on the website.

Supervision

Thesis supervision can be awarded 1 credit/27 hours of work. A maximum of 1 credit can be awarded for supervising one Bachelor's thesis. Up to 2 credits can be awarded for the supervision of one Master's thesis. To get credits in the register, submit a written report of your supervision work to your supervisor. The report (1-2 pages) should include the following information:

  • Institution where the supervision was provided
  • Name, author(s), level (bachelor/master) of the supervised thesis
  • When the supervision took place (period from the start of the supervision to the completion of the thesis)
  • Estimated number of hours of supervision (27 h = 1 credit)
  • What did you learn (reflect on your learning in relation to the learning outcomes of the ITKJ4001 course)

The supervisor will submit the information about the performance to the doctoral education coordinator (HelpJYU), who will record the performance in the study register.
