IHMJ2205 Basic statistical analysis using IBM SPSS (2 cr)
Description
The course introduces measurement scales and methods suitable for them. These methods include T-test, univariate general linear model (also for repeated measurements), regression analysis, exploratory factor analysis, cluster analysis and logistic regression analysis. Some of the methods presented above require normally distributed variables, and if the assumptions are not fulfilled, the course presents alternative ways to analyze the data, such as non-parametric tests and the bootstrap method.
Completion mode: Independent and / or assisted learning and verification of learning from exercise results.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student has a basic skills for the SPSS program and the basic statistical methods it offers. After taking the course, the student will be able to create the material to be analyzed and analyze the material using basic statistical methods, recognizing the strengths and limitations of each method. The course provides a good basis for analyzing and developing one's own data using the SPSS program.
