Learning outcomes
The doctoral student
- is able to recognise and utilise employment opportunities arising from their expertise
- has networked with the world of work and developed these connections
- has proficient communication and networking skills in different working environments
- has developed their general and job-specific workplace skills
- has specified their own areas of professional interest
- is able to assess, develop and value their abilities and attitudes towards continuous learning
Additional information
Teaching language(s) and learning language(s): Finnish, English or other language agreed with the supervisor-in-charge
Modes of completion: Workplace learning and reflection on it. The work must be demanding expert work, excluding research or research visits related to the dissertation. The tasks can also consist of serving in an academic position of trust, for example in scientific societies, organisations or professional associations related to your field or profession. However, teaching or guidance are not acceptable modes of completion. A report on the expert work must be prepared, reflecting on the work performance in relation to the doctoral student’s doctoral study plan and career and employment goals. Note: For the study unit Workplace Learning and the World of Work, you can receive a maximum of 5 ECTS credits.
Assessment criteria: Assignments are assessed on the basis of how the doctoral student masters the contents of the study unit and achieves the learning outcomes of the study unit. A pass requires that the assignments are completed successfully.
