Learning outcomes

Student has/is:

  • become aware of personal strengths as physicist, learned to verbalize own knowhow, and updated personal portfolio
  • mapped career opportunities outside the academic research
  • familiarized to application process to PhD studies and start of the academic career
  • familiarized to departments and faculty assessment criteria for Master’s Thesis, aware of their rights and obligations throughout the thesis process
  • chosen Master Thesis topic, found a supervisor, and drafted a realistic schedule together with the supervisor, including meaningful checkpoints
  • set goals for the Master Thesis work and reflected the personal significance of the thesis
  • learned to communicate own research

Method 1

Description:
Seminar group starts in fall. Group is divided to English and Finnish speaking sub-group.
Evaluation criteria:
Public seminar talk, return of the home assignments, compensating work, if absent from small group meetings.
