FYSS3315 Cyclotron operation (2 cr)
Description
· Principles of ion optics
· Working principle of cyclotron
· Vacuum technology
· Radiation on the Accelerator laboratory
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students know the principles of ion optics and the cyclotron-type accelerators. They understand the basics of vacuum technology. They understand the formation of ionizing radiation in the Accelerator laboratory and know the principles of radiation protection and minimization of radiation production. They are able to use the control system in use at the Accelerator laboratory and are capable of independent operation of the equipment. They are able to solve typical problems and know how to recruit additional help when needed.
