Learning outcomes

After this course, students will be able to:

  • understand and explain key concepts, theory, methods and practice in the field of language, equality and discrimination

  • understand and explain ways in which issues of ethnicity and race are linked to equality and discrimination via means of language and discourse;

  • understand and explain ways in which issues of disability and ableism are linked to equality and discrimination via means of language and discourse;

  • understand and explain ways in which issues of gender and sexuality are linked to equality and discrimination via means of language and discourse;
