Description
- Basic principles, concepts and approaches associated with comparative pedagogy
- Exploration and comparison of alternative and mainstream models of education
- Familiarisation with the contributions of educational thinkers from different educational cultures
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will
- have a better appreciation of education and pedagogy as cultural phenomena
- be able to appraise assumptions associated with educational models and comparative research
- be able to use different criteria for mapping and analysing education and pedagogy
