Description

The course teaches how to identify around 400 species of plants and lichens. The course includes lectures and demonstrations, independent study of collection samples. 

Learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be able to identify and name about 400 common Finnish plant species and the families to which these species belong. The student will be able to pay attention to the key species characteristics and habitat requirements of the species in plant species identification. The student will be able to identify the most important indicator species of habitat types and the most important invasive species.
