DEVM5007 Advanced theories of development (5 cr)
Description
The course includes close reading and reflective writing on selected development theories, their historical origins, main concepts, theoretical underpinnings, and potential implications for development policies and practice.
Learning outcomes
The course contributes to the DEICO learning objective: (1) understand the main concepts and theories related to international development, their evolution, and the critical debates around them. It is a continuation for the core course on Development Theories (DEVS3013). Upon completion of the course students will have in-depth understanding and ability to critically reflect selected development theories. The selection of the theories of interest is done together with the instructor.
