Description
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with a few current and relevant working life phenomena from the perspective of work and organizational psychology, but other disciplines are also possible. Specific content varies annually depending on, firstly, according to the field of specialization and research topics by teaching staff and potential guest lecturers, and, secondly, the interest of students. However, the topics covered in this course may include various work- and career-related events and factors that are related to employee well-being from different viewpoints (e.g., employee and organizational performance, interventions).
Learning outcomes
Students will have an understanding about some current trends and relevant phenomena in work and organizational psychology and/or other disciplines of working life. They will also gain experience and skills in how to access the latest research on working life and pass on the knowledge they have learned to others.
Additional information
If a student includes this course in "Psykologian aineopinnot", one cannot include it in the Contemporary Intermediate Level Studies in Psychology (CIP) module.

Completion methods

Participation in teaching (1–10 cr)
Attending lectures, giving a pair/group presentation in a peer seminar and writing a learning log, an extended essay and/or a final exam.
