This course involves participating in research activities in a research group and gives an overview of different elements in neuroscience project.

Description

 Cognitive Neuroscience Practicum involves participating in research activities in a real research groups. One credit equals 20 hours of work and writing a learning diary, and the course can consist of work between 1-5 credits. The duties vary and can include for example participating in data collection and data analysis. The learning diaries describe the student’s own activities within the project, self-reflection on learning, and the progression of the research project.

Learning outcomes

After completing the course students are capable of reporting the progression of a research project on cognitive neuroscience. By taking part in one or several stages in real research projects, the students are better able to grasp how research projects are planned and carried out. The students understand the roles of the different team members in the project and how the work is temporally organized.

CIBA110 Systems and Cognitive Neuroscience or equivalent understanding of the central nervous system recommended

There is no common course material, but the projects provide background reading during the course (books, articles or web-based material).
